As part of our on-going initiative to give back to struggling communities, we are pleased to announce that Shutterway will be working with Michele Sandilands Architects on a project at the Rape Crisis Centre in Khayelitsha.
With the help of their skilled employees and architects, we will be installing robust security gates at cost price for the important Change a Life project. This premium security will facilitate a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and the centre’s patients. Established in 1976, the Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust is the oldest and most qualified establishment for empowering women in South Africa.
It’s through their unwavering effort that affected women are able to follow the course to justice while getting the support they need for recovery. Building upon this history of care, the Rape Crisis Centre, in partnership with Computershare’s Mike Thompson Change a Life Foundation, have founded this new project to build skills and provide economic empowerment to rape survivors.
It is Shutterway’s hope that our small contribution will assist this new endeavour and enable the victims to rise above their current, trying circumstances. The Change a Life Centre is currently housed at the Rape Crisis’s Khayelitsha office. Head to www.rapecrisis.org.za to inform yourself about the important work that they do, and see how you can get involved!
