Shutterway recently undertook an installation on the picturesque Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch, best known for its delicious wines. (www.waterfordestate.co.za)
The project was introduced by local interior designer, Lydia Van Der Spuy (www.lydiavanderspuy.com). With a background in fashion, international sourcing and commerce, Lydia offers clients a broad range of services. She is also a past client of Shutterway herself and has been recommending the product to her clients.
The design brief was to secure a second storey bedroom, where most of the openings were arched and inwards opening. The designers solved this by working out templates to match the curvature, subsequently fitting secure window and door protection in our characteristic louvre design between the windows and the fixed louvre timber shutters. The sturdy fittings were finished in an appealing neutral grey tone to match the home’s aesthetic, which ultimately enhanced the look of this characterful house.
