When considering which type of slam lock to use for your security gate, it is good to know the difference between the different type of lock options. There is no point in investing in a high-security lock if your main purpose is to control foot traffic. Here we will have a look at the different slam lock options that Shutterway has on offer. These slam lock options are all for swing security gates and not for sliding gates.
Push Pin Slam Lock
This lock utilises a keyless locking mechanism. When pulling the gate shut it will latch close and all you need to do is push the pin to fully lock the swing security gate. It is only necessary to use the key to unlock the gate. This lock is ideal for passage gates, where the bedrooms are protected from the rest of the house. It is, however, important to always have a key hidden on both sides of the gate. This way you would always be able to unlock the gate and not be locked in or out.
Electronic Slam Lock
The electronic lock that we use is a very high-security lock. The CISA Elettrika is perfect for access control and giving ultimate security at the same time. This lock can then be unlocked by the push of a button on a remote. It can also be used without connecting it to a power source and manually unlocking it with a key.
Striker Release Slam Lock
This electronic lock is not recommended as a security lock as it can be breached very easily. This lock is ideal for low shop front security gates, where the main purpose is to control the foot traffic in your shop. Here you would also use a remote to unlock the gate and also receive a key for unlocking should there be a scenario where there is no electricity.
